Boy, her head looks tiny.

Retro fashion, whether authentic or heavily inspired, has always appealed to me more than more contemporary fashion. There's an element of elegance, intentional design, and a degree of restraint in (some of) the clothes.

I love big coats. What's more, I love big coats that disrupt the silhouette of the wearer's original figure, like it's eating them or they're being absorbed into it. They make for an impressive and dramatic visual. This is especially true in ink. How's that for using ink in Inktober?

I like this piece very much, but I don't have much to say about it. I sort of wish I put shading under her feet. Though this was meant to be a pinup, so it's semi-okay that she looks like she's floating in space. But this was a good opportunity to create edges with the white of the paper. Balancing all the values was a bit tricky. Usually, I like to bracket a character off with their shoes being the same as their hat or possibly even their hair. But the visual of black against a white backdrop stands out as much stronger than white with a black outline against white. They also make, I feel, for stronger angles, the point of this piece.

Thanks for reading~
