I suppose it’s bound to happen, but I more or less just came out of one of the funkiest blue funk I’ve had in a while. Or maybe the funkiest, period.

What the dickens is up with those people who can produce amazing work when they’re stewing in misery? I’ve heard of them, but my sad butt can’t even eat regularly when I’m that down and out, let alone make a decent piece of art. Guess it’s a personal thing.

To be honest, even though I’ve been an artist all my life, I think I might subconsciously still buy into some of the stereotypes. Sad artists make great art. They dig deep, find le inspiration, and create brilliance with their pen or brush or chisel or whatever. Right? Apparently not all of them. While I’m waking up every morning for several days on end wondering if I should call the police before I kill myself, some person is saying, “I’m so sad today. Here’s my magnum opus, I guess.” Wish I could break me off a piece of that. I’d certainly be guaranteed more productivity.

I was even going to blog a bit about just what I was going through during the aforementioned blue funk, but you know, unproductive and whatnot. You probably weren’t missing anything remarkable. I think I was literally going to write a post that simply said “This sucks.” Such stirring literature. Aah, well. Color me humorously jealous.

At any rate, I’m functional again, so expect more updates on Clubbing. I managed to finish the final pencils for Jay and Sheriff before I crashed, so I’ll document those as well as the final pencils of the rest involved, God willing.

Say, if I was blue and now I’m not, does that make me currently orange? I like to think so~
