The thumbnails for Page 1 of the script~

As this is only the first pass, I'm leaving it basically rough so I can just get them out quickly. Any issues, like minor positioning, major posing, and stuff, I can resolve at the second traditional pass. Issues such as major positioning, proportions, general scaling, and such will be fixed in the earlier digital stages. In what "pass," I have no clue. Been doing this for a year and change and I still have no clear handle on what my process is...

Yes, thus far, I am enjoying having access to a script. It takes all the major storytelling guesswork out of the drawing. I mean, yeah, I neglected to write down what kind of shot I needed, but still! Something else I just noticed as I'm writing this: the finish line. With a clear and obvious end in sight, it's much easier to feel you've made some progress. I know there are, according to the script, 52 panels I need to do. I have 12 here, so that's 40 left. If I do a script page a day, not only will I have the thing thumbnailed in five days, those five days will have very clear, well-defined, easily digestible goals that allow me to stay on track, be flexible, and get ahead as the fancy strikes me. Scripts: all about that effective planning~

The "A Simple Escort Mission" pencils above are meant to as a guide for proportions, posing, expression, and other things. As much as I love drawing in this style, I'm not quite used to it. That's the best example of how my own work looks in that style, so I wanted to keep it handy. Also, I kinda just like looking at it.

As of writing this, I've already finished the second page, which had eight panels set to sketch.
