Finished this earlier this morning. I had originally considered just flying by the seat of my pants, and that may have its own element of fun. But really, I can't be bothered with coming up with an entirely new concept every day. No need to write Gone with the Wind here. The only description necessary is just a fragment saying what it is.
There are a handful of more complicated pieces like Underwater and Friends, but most of these are fairly simple. 'Cause that's how I wanted to keep my first run of Inktober. Simple and enjoyable. The real challenge comes from creating a large variety of different subjects. For some reason, I've been wanting to draw bearded men, so that accounts for the multiple installations of beardos here. And of course, lots of mid-century stuff.
Yes, that's what I did for 30 Characters in 30 Days 2016, but there, at least for me, wasn't a need to plan out any real composition. That was about the characters and their stories; the art wasn't that important. Inktober is about the drawing, specifically the inkwork. Personally, I feel it's best to work out a basic plan of attack for this.
Oh yeah. 30in30 is coming up again in November... Well, it'll be great fodder for my channel again, so look forward to that. *wry laugh*
In other news~
I recently bought a 2x2 cubby shelf thing for my studio. Not only will my... weirdly small collection of books fit in it, but as it's going to sit on the floor by my desk (that my mom gave me~), I'll have access to the top, where I'll put my art utensils, i.e. pencils, ink pens, Copics, etc. I'm going to build it today, God willing, and I'm actually looking forward to taking a few pictures of the new setup. The adjustable drafting board thing came (I think it came the day I mentioned it, actually...), and it's on the desk and everything. Huge upgrade from drawing on a floppy sketchbook whilst sitting on my bed.
Seriously, though. I need some more art books. What's wrong with me?
