Four more days and yet another set of panels.
One thing quite necessary that's missing here is the effect of... effects. Like blasts and "sound effects." Hopefully, I'll have a full day to implement them if I stay on this run of working ahead. Speaking of stuff that's missing, Jay usually has a ridiculous amount of makeup on: blush, eyeliner, mascara, eye-shadow, and lipstick. She also has camo pants. I had to put those off until later for time's sake, but what might end up happening is that the camo pants will be the only addition. Cutting things for time stinks, but it has to be done...
I am not quite sure how I managed to pump out this many panels today. Felt like I was sleeping most of the day. Granted, with the characters outside, I'm not using 10-20 minutes doing rock shading, so that probably accounts for the higher yield. Some comic pro out there is probably shaking their head and saying, "n00b," but hey. At this rate I might have a fair workday to just do additional stuff. I am gonna need it...
And, oddly enough, I somehow feel as if I'm hitting my stride with these. There already was a system in place for the process of further rendering. Initial cleanup, first level of shadow, second level of shadow, then highlights. I'd get all the characters first before moving onto objects and lastly onto the environments. For the cave section, I had a filter to make it look darker, so that happened before everything. But all of this is to say that I already knew what I was doing. It's just only now that I'm hitting some sort of rhythm or something. Of course, when the end is in sight...
Boy, am I looking forward to redesigning Hudson.
