I've said this before, but Jay is basically a bunch of circles. It serves to make her look friendly/like one of the good guys, and it makes her look feminine. It also serves to make her look slightly puffy and bloated.
One of the issues with her design, however, is her eyebrows. If her eyebrows fly upwards, they disappear into her hair. Her dark, almost black hair. Fortunately, her eyebrows usually sit directly above her eyes, as seen in the first image. I suppose I could try to use a highlight color for her eyebrows when they are obscured by her hair, but in the past, that hasn't worked that well. I'll have to find something, though, or else her range of readable emotion will be limited.
On the other hand, a few positives. For one, that weird Supremes thing on her head is excellent for communicating motion. Whenever she moves quickly enough, it trails behind her (see the third pic) or follows through her line of motion if she stops short.
Also, her face is detailed enough for her to look like own character, but it's also simple enough to not only draw fairly easily but to draw with a lot of expressiveness and still have it look like her.
