The flats of Girl 6. The face I based her around gave me the impression that she needed to have a washed-out color scheme, preferably combined with an outfit resembling a uniform of sorts. Really, I become more and more surprised by the variety of clothes in Animal Crossing. Good stuff.
I don't know why, but for me, there's always been something charming about a very cartoonish character dressed in very drab clothes. Plots with indefinite progression have always been some of my favorites, and I think the appeal comes from the idea of the character commuting before the sun comes up, laboring through the morning and afternoon, just having enough time to catch a quick lunch, then pushing for the final stretch into the evening, and finally coming home in the dead of night to maybe relax before starting the whole cycle over again.
A more formal, classy style of dressing has always appealed to me more than casual clothes, anyway, but the dork/student/office worker/pencil-pusher type in semi-uniform provides such a strong visual.
