Sometimes, when you do pencils, you do a bad. But never fear! A misconception is that inking means just tracing over your pencils with black or yellow or whatever. That is not always the case. Inking is for refinement, enhancing, and correcting. A lot of mistakes might be made in the pencil stage, and you can absolutely fix them there. But I find that, sometimes, jiggling the pencils around a lot can ruin the energy the penciling stage is great for. To salvage the energy of this early stage, try fixing the issues in the inking stage.
The problem I had with his face wasn't really evident until I began inking, actually... It was oddly lopsided, like it was melting from a high center. Plus, because of the placement of his mouth and nose, the bottom half of his face looked like it protruded too much. So I moved the eyes closer together, tweaked the positioning of his mouth and nose, and inked his bottom jaw to create a rounder, smoother look.
