Jay Bust Sketch

I don't even remember what I was doing when I was drawing this, but I felt like doing a simple picture of Jay Vignette. Specifically with her eyes closed.

I made reference to Jay being based on/a parody of Clara Bow. But she's also meant to be a bit mixed with Angela Lansbury and a lot mixed with the look of the girl groups like the Supremes and the Marvelletes.

Though... not sure where the goofily round head and squashed features came from... It may have just been a series of errors I carried over through all the times I drew her, and when I decided to make her look more interesting, I made it canon and exaggerated it. For most of her recent design, I recall deliberately trying to make her look puffy and a bit bloated. Washed up actress stuff.

A favorite description of mine for Jay is that of a pig in a Supreme's wig mixed with a bad Angela Lansbury cosplay.

In terms of the more technical side of her design, circles. That's basically it. She's intended to look particularly feminine as well as particularly benign in that "obviously a good guy" way.
